Duke Realty, one of the largest commercial real estate companies in the United States with industrial/logistic real estate properties in 20 major U.S. cities, has an outstanding opportunity for a Senior Tax Accountant to join our team in our Indianapolis, IN office. The Sr. Tax Accountant is responsible for the preparation and timely filing of more complex partnership and corporate tax returns while minimizing tax liabilities through sound and informed applications of applicable tax laws and regulations. Further, monitors new tax laws impacting Duke Realty and its partners. Additional responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:
- Maintain corporate tax system for the preparation and filing of Federal and multi-state income tax returns, tax payments, and asset valuations for all corporate entities. Examines accounts and records and computes taxes owed.
- Assists with researching tax audits, calculating and reviewing of tax accruals and preparing various miscellaneous tax reports. May assist with audits and preparation of various tax filings. Organizes and maintains tax records and conducts tax studies and/or special projects.
- Research and interpret tax laws and procedures in order to make recommendations to
- management for corporate tax strategies.
- Responds to and resolves requests from governmental agencies regarding audits and appeals.
- Perform other duties as assigned by manager.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 2-4 years experience in Tax Accounting required. Knowledge of REIT, partnership and s multi-state tax law and public accounting experience preferred.
- Experience working with complex partnership tax compliance is desired.
- CPA License preferred.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to comprehend complex financial information.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Office Suite.
- Experience in utilizing databases for information management desired.
- Possess strong initiative and effective organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain rapport with professionals at all levels.
