Field Service Manager

Covering the South of UK

You will manage a team of 10-12 Field Service Engineers across the south of the UK. Our Engineers are professional, motivated, friendly, independent, and

technically savvy. They do what it takes to look after our customers and represent our high standards. With a first-time fix mentality.

Your Responsibilities

We are looking for a people leader someone of can drive continuous improvements, work as part of the leadership team on development, processes and productivity.

Focusing on the commercial aspect of the business as well as the day-to-day management of the team, you will be responsible to for planned revenue and profitability targets.

  • Negotiate contracts and 3rd party service providers.
  • Actively manage service key accounts and support Sales Teams at critical or key account customers in order to ensure first class customer happiness.
  • Ensure customer complaints are dealt within agreed time scales
  • Reduce inventory in the workshop to a minimum. Do regularly 5Ss in workshops and ensure inventory held is in line with business objectives
  • Support Tender business as the need arises. Raise sophisticated tenders to EU Managers

As a field Service manager, you will have overall responsibility for the success, growth and development of your team.

  • Consistently monitoring workload, team performance and productivity
  • Ensuring we continue to develop our engineers by carrying out training and mentorship
  • Manage Performance Improvement plans, working with the team on process improvements using lean techniques such as 5’s.

Our Expectations

You will be Degree qualified, in Electro-mechanical or Electrical Engineering or have equivalent work experience / military training.

But overall we are looking for a people leader someone who has experience with developing a team and owning a PNL.

  • Team leadership experience with the ability to build and drive effective team working.
  • A basic knowledge/understanding of GMP.
  • Good communication skills and ability to deliver great service to all our clients
  • A team-leader, someone who is motivated and driven to provide a good customer experience
  • Flexible with travel – 75% field based
