SMTS Silicon Design Engineer – 90081

The Role:

AMD is offering a great opportunity to Silicon Design Engineers to join our Implementation (Front End (FE) and Physical Implementation & Integration) Design team making a multibillion gates SOC in their latest world-class foundry technology.

The Person:

We’re looking for an analytical thinker with problem-solving skills and excellent attention to detail. Do you possess excellent comprehension, communication, and interpersonal skills? Do you enjoy working in a fast-paced, multi-project team environment using state of the art tools and technology? This might be the job for you!

Key Responsibilities:

We are seeking someone with a solid understanding on the following synthesis and physical design functions including:

  • Actively involved with performing synthesis net-listing tasks such as, SDC Development, Scan Insertion, Functional and timing ECO implementation, Formal Verification RTL vs gate, etc.
  • Prior experience in timing/SDC constraints generation and management. Strong background in Constraint analysis and debug, using industry standard tools
  • Chip level Design and Integration
  • Low power design and implementation knowledge on power aware synthesis & pnr. Knowledge on voltage domain check will be a plus.
  • Work with Physical Design team on Floor Plan, ram placement, timing closure and resolve congestion etc.
  • Some exposure to DFT is a strong plus

Preferred Experience:

  • EDA tools like DC and ICC2
  • Hands on experienced in STA tools and technique for timing closure
  • Understanding of floorplan and layout techniques
  • Experience in scripting with TCL, Perl or Python
  • Good writing, reading and listening skills in English
  • Good communication skills with strong interpersonal skills with flexibility
  • Dedicated team player
  • Prior but recent tapeout experience
  • Industrial experience in ASIC design

Academic Credentials:

Bachelors degree in Engineering, Masters a plus
