What will you do?
We’re looking for a talented, passionate Software Quality Assurance (QA) Test Analyst to work on MiWay’s ever-growing technology-stack and applications. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning and testing world-class solutions within a cross-functional team. We’re looking for a Test Analyst to contribute towards sustainable, intuitive and functional solutions that meet business needs. The candidate will have an impact on the technical direction of our applications and shape the success of the customer experience.
Our department’s purpose is to Deploy working software, that adds business value, daily. In order to achieve this, we require team members to be open and comfortable with active participation in reviewing code and standards, supporting production to maintain its stability and have a good problem-solving approach to understand and solve a wide range of issues. We are all professionals sharing the same purpose so we should not intend offence or take offence when communicating, especially when handling constructive criticism from one another. We hold each other accountable so we can support and grow each other.
Minimum Qualification Required
- Matric
- Relevant IT degree or diploma will get preference
- Testing qualifications will get preference
Minimum Experience Required
- At least 3 years’ experience in Software Testing
- Understanding of programming / SQL fundamentals
- Practical understanding of front-end, back-end and integration testing
- Experience with browser-based debugging and performance testing software
- Understanding of web application architecture
- Web and mobile experience will get preference
- Following skills and exposure will be beneficial:
- Automation Testing (Selenium or Similar Tools)
- Experience in agile environment
- Networks & infrastructure experience
- Performance testing
- Contribution to open source projects
Deliverables include, but will not be limited to
- Plan, design & develop solutions within a team
- Apply context driven testing with exploratory testing in an agile environment (Scum and Kanban)
- Catch defects when the agile team is planning a requirement.
- Perform ad-hoc and weekly regression testing
- Must understand all business areas (front and back-end), not just your teams’ area
- Assist in product version testing
- Continuously growing your technical skills (programming, SQL, API, networks)
- Pair with other testers, developers and product owners
- Mobile and Web Testing
- Always document testing against acceptance criteria of user story
- Work closely with Scrum or Kanban team to get working software in production
- Participate in all agile ceremonies

- Good understanding of interaction design, user-centered design process, as well as strong knowledge of user experience principles, techniques, and patterns
- Good verbal & written communication skills with the ability to engage with a variety of roles
- Strong time management skills and the ability to be self-directed when needed
- Experience working in cross-functional teams with a passion for collaboration
- Solution-driven with the ability to adapt to change
