Purpose of Job
Solution Architect – Mobility Applications is required to provide expertise in Enterprise Application Management including but not limited to Content Management, Mobility Governance, Desktop Software Packaging and will be responsible for design, configure and development of IT solutions. The Solution Architect will research, recommend, and develop functional solution design; define business processes improvements, and business objectives with focus on enterprise application capabilities and integration points.
Key Accountabilities
- Capture project needs from business stakeholders in the ECM area, including Doc Management, Collaboration, and mobility applications as that area expands in North America. Clarify and translate project needs into feasible workable technical requirements, statements of work, and detailed functional specifications. Assist in creating project cost estimates.
- Determine project needs and architect solutions for assigned product areas for small projects and assist the Senior Solution Architects in gathering requirements, designing, and implementing solutions for larger projects. Clarify and translate project needs into feasible workable technical requirements, statements of work, and detailed functional specifications. Assist in creating project cost estimates. Support existing software and evaluate new software when new needs are identified.
- Collects and analyzes information and recommends solutions and courses of actions.
- Works with the ECM and mobility user community to seek out ways to improve processes, implement new functionality, or teach users how to better use existing functionality in assigned functional areas
- Recommends and performs configuration changes for assigned functional areas, and participates in IM Service Change Management Processes
- Supports business justification in planning, testing and performing upgrades/migrations for assigned functional areas, or providing support to external vendors performing the upgrades.
- Demonstrates planning abilities including scheduling, identification of required resources, and detailed checklists of actions needed to enable setting and meeting reasonable deadlines for service requests. Also demonstrates ability to perform tasks as part of larger projects with supervision from project managers, or more senior staff.
- Manages IM service quality towards the Portfolio and Product Owners.
- Serves as a liaison to other functional IM areas, or outsourced resources, as needed to coordinate activities in support of problem resolution, project tasks, or software support of the assigned applications areas
- Write and develop required scripts and configuration according to company standards for all packaging
- Responsible for packaging, integration, and implementation of desktop and application packages including some servers (Windows & Citrix)
Formal Education
A relevant bachelor’s degree (Computer Science / Informatics/ Information Systems/ Technology/ Industrial Engineering) or relevant business qualification
Working Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- 4 + years relevant job experience
- Good Oral and Written communications skills
- Application systems specific skills is desired
- Oral and written communications with users, customers, and IM Personnel
Required Personal and Professional Skills
- Understand the phases of SDLC & Agile
- Setup, maintain and troubleshoot IIS & Apache Tomcat
- Windows Server 2012+ and server/client maintenance & troubleshooting
- Knowledge of automation using multiple languages including but not limited to Powershell, Batch, SQL Procedures, Triggers, Wise, C#, .NET, and general knowledge of APIs
- SQL queries and good working knowledge of databases including Oracle, SQL Server & MySQL
- Mobility Governance with AirWatch experience
- Software Packaging analysis, planning, testing, deployment, and ongoing support
- Experience with SCCM administration including but not limited to packages, programs, advertisements and reports
- Experience working in offshore/onsite support model.
