Job Purpose (Job Summary):
To provide research, monitoring and analysis of current or potential investments across Emerging Market Fixed Income and currency markets
Key Responsibilities / Duties:
- Analyses economic data and other fundamental drivers of Emerging Markets to help Fund Managers identify opportunities for and risks within the portfolios
- Writes research reports and presents investment theses to Fund Managers
- Develops and maintains own investment expertise through building and maintaining effective relationships with brokers, analysts, and internal contacts
- Proactively contributes to investment thinking within the department and ensures own best ideas are represented in the Funds
- Produces/maintains appropriate models and chart packs to support the investment processes and identify value across Emerging Markets.
- Assists in the production of charts and other materials for use with clients.
- Provides general support for the Fund Managers in preparing presentations, reports etc
- May liaise with clients, assisting with the maintenance of client relationships, internal fund managers and other departments
- May represent the Funds and the Retail and Institutional business to external and internal clients, thereby making a positive contribution to the Sales and Marketing effort
- Ensure all activities are in line with Invesco’s Conduct principles, including our obligation to Treat Customers Fairly (TCF)
- Ensures that risks are aligned to the firm’s risk philosophy and risk tolerance guidelines
- Commitment to responsible investing serving clients as a trusted partner on specific responsible investment product strategies
- May contribute to Investment Policy formation
Work Experience / Knowledge:
- Relevant experience or related occupation within a Fund Management or Financial business
- Keen interest in financial markets and solid grounding in macro-economics
- Knowledge of relevant markets in EM
- High literacy and numeracy skills
- Good IT skills (Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel skills), Bloomberg and other charting tools
- Some understanding of portfolio risk management
