Reporting to the Textron Systems Manager of Export/Import Compliance, the Sr. Export/Import Compliance Analyst will proactively handle export/import compliance matters for Textron Systems as assigned. Will interact with employees at all levels and will work both independently and with other members of the Legal, Contracts and Compliance Department staff on a variety of interesting international trade compliance matters. 
 
This role, located in Hunt Valley, MD, requires successful management of a broad range of responsibilities in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment. In performing this role, the Export/Import Compliance Analyst will: 

• Review import/export documents and work with Customs Brokers to expedite customs clearance of Company products that have been delayed.
• Apply U.S. Customs regulations to business transactions ensuring corporate customs compliance, including handling tariff classifications of imported/exported merchandise, valuation issues, country of origin determinations, USMCA and other Free Trade Agreement-related issues, submitting requests for binding rulings, protests and appeals, and duty minimization programs (e.g. duty drawback, inward processing/foreign trade zones, temporary imports, etc.).
• Code Customs Broker import invoices for payment and review import entries for errors
• Work in collaboration with in-house attorneys and outside counsel to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Provide support in connection with internal/external audits and investigations.
• Track application status, maintain database of granted import approvals, satisfy record-keeping requirements, and prepare required reports.
• Assist in maintaining up-to-date Import Compliance Policies, Procedures and Manuals.
• Assist in planning and conducting employee training.
• May perform other Trade Compliance duties as assigned
 

 Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited nationally recognized university required (emphasis on international trade management, international business, MBA a plus).

• Customs compliance and ATF permit preparation experience, with progressively more complex responsibilities as well as working knowledge of the OCR EASE a plus.
• Experience in government contracting, software, and/or defense and aerospace industry a plus
• Excellent drafting skills; demonstrated experience administering agreements and/or contracts a plus
• Computer literacy, including competency with the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) system and Microsoft Office suite applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) required.
• Exceptionally strong administrative and organizational skills
• Applicant must be U.S. citizen or permanent resident alien, with the ability to obtain / maintain a DoD security clearance
• Ability and willingness to occasionally travel domestically and internationally
• Must have a strong work ethic and a desire to consistently perform at the highest levels of competence
• Superb interpersonal, communication, writing, and editing skills and the ability to learn quickly, work in a team environment with minimal supervision, manage/prioritize multiple tasks, and lead complex projects
• Ability to effectively organize and manage multiple assignments simultaneously with a minimum amount of supervision
• A team player with an open, mature and positive personality who is willing to share and communicate information effectively while maintaining high levels of integrity, confidentiality, and discretion
• Consistent attention to detail and the ability to effectively prioritize and timely produce high quality work product is absolutely essential
• Strong business acumen, analytical skills, problem solving abilities, good judgment, and the proven ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management
