Function Description
Responsible for collecting and consolidating business unit financial statements and required supplemental reporting required for the Fire & Security (F&S) Headquarters Segment. All reviews and reporting are performed in accordance with US GAAP and Carrier policies. Support of key actual financial reporting for Segment Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Segment Controller. Provide technical and policy accounting support to all Business Unit Controllers for the implementation of any new or updated Accounting Guidance or Carrier Policy changes. Deliver key Controllership objectives while supporting the Mission & Vision of Carrier Corporation Finance. Reports to the Assistant Controller F&S.
Discipline Description
Gathers, reviews, and consolidates actual financial reporting on a monthly and quarterly basis. Evaluates financials to ensure alignment with US GAAP and Corporate Policies. Develop and execute a communication plan across all Business Units Controllers to align all required internal and external Corporate reporting items. F&S Representative with WHQ Controllership to attend all required meetings, gather and set alignment on required reporting and analysis. Develop an updated balance sheet review and analytics process and provide training on key deliverables due to Segment CFO and Controller. Key business partner to the FSP Director WHQ Finance. Engage in critical projects and strategic initiatives, technical accounting support on complex accounting activities, and responsible for level 1 SOX controls for F&S WHQ.

Provide technical accounting support to complex accounting situations and confirm Carrier policy compliance
Ability to partner and advise WHQ Leadership on financial and control impacts to critical initiatives and situations
Ability to communicate and influence Business Unit Controllers and FSP Finance Director
Purpose
Confirms consolidated results are in alignment with US GAAP, establishes and executes accounting and control objectives, execute control activities and reporting owns consolidated balance sheet analysis and analytics, and manages F&S WHQ accounting initiatives. Provides technical and policy support on complex accounting activities to all Business Unit Controllers on any new accounting or policy guidance. Key business partner to FSP WHQ Finance Leadership.
Responsibility Statements
Oversee consolidation of F&S Segment reportable financial statements and related F&S WHQ controls
Ensure accurate and timely actual financial submissions; confirm disclosures are in alignment with US GAPP.
Direct and review results with FSP WHQ Leadership and provide consolidated analysis of balance sheet impacts
Deliver technical accounting and policy support related to complex accounting situations and decisions
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or other Business-related field with at least ten years of relevant experience.
MBA with a concentration in Finance with a minimum of 7 years related relevant experience
Ability to manage moderately sized projects or processes with a minimum of oversight
Ability to solve challenging and often complex financial/accounting related issues
Ability to complete analysis of current processes and make recommendations for improvement
Communicate directly with others within the same or different financial disciplines throughout the company
Strong communication, excel, presentation skills
Ability to deal with ambiguity
Ability to adapt quickly to changing business environment
