Sr. OpenVMS/PROMIS Administrator

Summary:

The IT Principal Systems Administrator for MES is responsible for coordinating with management to achieve defined objectives and work plans to support information technology solutions.

Is responsible for interfacing with multiple departments including Operations, Planning and Quality Control to document business processes, functional specification design, configuration, testing, and implementing complex manufacturing processing routes for a high-volume semiconductor manufacturer including multiple wafer fabs and assembly / test operations within MES.

Coordinates with peers and team members and is responsible for project management, analysis, design, development and implementation of MES Solutions.

This position will also be responsible for developing, evaluating, and implementing changes in configuration and software modeling that meet both functional and technical requirements.

Detailed Description:

This individual will be the first point of escalation for any customer support and IT related request for the manufacturing execution system at assigned sites in addition to supporting other locations as needed.

Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Support MES system administration, data analysis in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Primary focus including system configuration of MES table updates, SPC, data extraction, standard / custom reporting interfaces and 3rd party GUI support for multiple sites.
  • Work with 3rd party vendors and internal resources to monitor system performance including regular maintenance to ensure high system availability and performance.
  • Support the manufacturing, engineering and quality departmental requirements to ensure high customer satisfaction.
  • Assist with system upgrades to new software revisions; ensure system integrity through proper planning and system testing.
  • Provide high level training / support for users on process route building, standard reporting, data extraction and 3rd party MES reporting software.

Support the creation of data collection operations and statistical process control (SPC) charts.

  • Support / monitor ERP-MES interfaces including gateways and interface tables for all sites.
  • Provide secondary support for additional sites in Asia, Mexico and the U.S. when necessary.
  • Administrate system configuration changes, new features modeling, testing and deployment with the MES and existing systems that support operations. Monitor user requests and propose solutions.
  • When required support global initiatives that address common requirements and best practices are used.
  • monitors systems issues and coordinates with IT infrastructure and client services resolution of application problems.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field or equivalent experience
  • Must have 8+ years of applicable IT experience
  • Demonstrates strong customer service focus, analytical, problem solving and teamwork abilities
  • Hands on experience PROMIS MES system administration experience
  • DCL Programming
  • PROMIS Scripting
  • OpenVMS and HPUX Operating Systems
  • FabTime reporting software exposure a plus
  • Support experience on Eyelit Operator Station, Supervisor Station and UtilEyes is plus
  • Ability to work across multiple time zones
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to use a wide degree of creativity and latitude to think differently, challenge conventional wisdom, and drive new best practices
  • Proficiency in the use of the Microsoft Office suite of applications
  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels of Management

  • Requires the ability to respond to MES problems that occur outside of business hours including evenings and weekends
  • Limited travel required
