Position Overview:
This opportunity is with Citrix Workspace Security group, which builds world’s highest performing and secure Application Delivery & Remote Access Services. In this role, you will work within a team of software engineers on problems of high complexity on our secure access and Zero Trust security solutions. The Staff Software Engineer is an advanced software engineer who designs, develops, tests, troubleshoots and debugs complex software applications, with increased responsibility for leadership and direction of others. The role recognized as a specialist in multiple fields, advises on design and development approach, and often acts as a Tech Lead working on complex projects and issues where analysis of situations or data requires both broad and in-depth evaluation of variable factors. The role also exercises seasoned judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. You will be involved with planning and prioritization of design and development activities to resolve a wide range of issues. You will be expected to demonstrate the ability to multitask.
Role Responsibilities:
- As a specialist in multiple areas, responsibly plans, prioritizes, organizes and performs technical work and ensures the integrity of significant and diverse projects; applying a wide range of experience and understanding of trends and technologies, leads the analysis and conceptual design and technical direction of proposed projects.
- Leads and directs requirements analysis, and writing of software requirements and design specifications for multiple significant software modules; often acts as a technical lead working on complex projects.
- Performing technical work requiring application of software development methodologies
- Implementing designs; performing code reviews; implementing automated unit tests; debugging and integrating code
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional team to define, design, and ship new features
- Following agile methodologies and adhere to development best practices like test driven development, code reviews as well as relevant documentation of implemented features and implementation and testing of high performance, resilient and secure cloud services and tools
- Communicating technical issues; assisting with technical specification documentation and review
- Coordinating own development activities and engaging in continuous learning both on the job and through technical training in order to enhance technical expertise
- Help maintain code quality, organization, and automization.
- Actively supports, communicates and enforces the company’s software engineering processes and standards
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent is a minimum requirement in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or a related technical field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
- Preferably 8+ Years of experience in software product development and life-cycle maintenance
- Strong knowledge of GraphDB and/or relational database systems like PostgreSQL
- Experience working on public cloud such as Azure, AWS is required and design and develop micro services at Cloud scale
- Knowledge with Docker/Kubernetes is required
- Expert level Python, GO or C/C++ is required
- Advanced knowledge of concepts in operating systems, networking and security
- Experience developing high quality software following agile methodologies and TDD and knowledge of version control systems, bug management tools as well as feature tracking tools like Jira
Preferred Skills/Experience:
- Preferred experience with HTTP, internet protocols and TCP Stacks
- Experience with Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA), Authentication is highly preferred.
- Specific implementation experience with cloud application security solutions
