State Manager – OR/ID

What You Will Do In This Role:

Oversee Oregon and Idaho comprehensive business volume planning, gift allocations, incentive programming, pricing, TMF budgets and all commercial planning while successfully developing the team.

What You Will Experience:

Leadership

Serve as coach, leader, motivator to direct report (s) ensuring they progress in their roles, preparing them for future opportunities.

Monitor business performance of team through frequent engagement, standardized performance reviews, and personal development plans

Ensure the local and regional extended team remains clear on objectives and prioritization of those goals & priorities.

Manages the implementation and execution of B-F off premise business plan with distributors and holds them accountable for results.

Establish Cadence with team, distributor, and key stakeholders within the your state liquor commission to ensure alignment as well as consistency of message and method

Lead high level team business execution across the market(s) while ensuring all business practices are compliant with Oregon and Idaho state regulations

Applying responsible conduct and behavior to all things that you do that affect our company, products, distributor, customers and agency

Planning & Analysis

Leads strategic business decisions with the support of General Manager and Finance team; build and communicate the brand commercial plans to Distributor Leadership – agree on objectives, targets, priorities and budgets that deliver net sales targets.

Lead pricing strategies that are unique to market vs standard pricing levers. Must be able to plan based on long term outlook in conjunction with the TFM

Collaborate to build and communicate fiscal year portfolio commercial plans to local Broker/Distributor Leadership

Lead evaluation and adjustment to plans based on performance and success in the market.

Monitor and communicate competitive consumer pricing activity and recommend changes or necessary adjustments

Partner with BF counterpart to lead quarterly TPS review meetings for the PNW Control states with our distributor partners

Lead BF SEE planning process and integration to support programming for both premises

Distributor/Agency Management

Serves as the primary contact with local distributor leadership & partners, providing oversight of business management and execution

Responsible for the execution of all commercial and channel plans with local broker/distributor team, holding them accountable to agreed upon targets/goals

Monitor and measure performance of all broker/distributor activities that affect B-F brands

Reconcile and consistently manage brand spending and brand activity support

Responsible for all distributor incentives to help achieve Brown-Forman business plan.

Regularly works the market place to understand market factors and key competitor information.

Oversight of agency personnel, including their brand activities and budget management

Strategically aligns with top distributor management and conducts tertile planning sessions to ensure Brown Forman will achieve all sales goals.

We Are Looking For People Who:

Bachelor’s degree plus 5-7 years sales experience or 8+ years sales experience within Beverage Alcohol Industry

Demonstrated ability to lead a team and hold the team accountable to the plan and goals.

Ability to build relationships and maintain effective working relationships with distributors and accounts and all internal stakeholders.

Demonstrated knowledge of beverage alcohol business and three-tier distribution system.

Strong communication skills both written and verbal.

Action-oriented: Responds in a timely and effective manner to business issues and opportunities.

Highly organized: capable of meeting multiple deadlines and juggling multiple projects.

Literate with word processing programs (such as Word/Google Doc), spreadsheet programs (such as Excel/Google Sheets), and presentation programs (such as PowerPoint/Google Slides)

Must be able and willing to travel (by air and car) up to 40% of the time.

Must have valid state driver’s license
