Surveillance Officer

The primary responsibility of the Surveillance Officer is to assist in the delivery of CAPEX projects through the inspection and contract administration of the various project works undertaken by Consultants and Contractors.   

The Surveillance Officer will carry out inspections of various project work spanning civil, pavement, mechanical and electrical disciplines across all Transurban Queensland assets. This is done to ensure the Consultants and Contractors meet their Deed obligations and contractual responsibilities, in particular quality and HSE requirements.

As the ‘eyes and ears’ of the team, you will play a key role in the construction and maintenance of some of Queensland’s leading road infrastructure. 

The impact you’ll have:

  • You’ll oversee and inspect works carried out by Consultants and Contractors

  • You will keep and maintain site records and diaries in order to have a record of progress and daily activities

  • You’ll carry out audit inspections to ensure adherence to construction related documentation

  • You’ll ensure that worksites and the travelling public are kept apart through overseeing and inspection of site security

  • You’ll assist in the contract administration of contract works: site records, non-conforming work, requests for clarification etc.

The talents you’ll bring:

  • Being the eyes and ears of the team you will have incredible attention to detail

  • You’ll have an impressive background in infrastructure projects and working with Department of Transport and Main Roads (DTMR) and Brisbane City Council (BCC) specifications

  • You’ll be familiar with construction, having come from a similar position 

  • You’ll have a driving licence and the ability to get a white card

  • You’ll be flexible – the majority of this role will be on night-works
