Systems Design Engineer III

Job Description

Responsibilities:
• Designs a complete and complex framework, system or product.
• Defines processes for technical platforms, system specifications, input/output and working parameters for hardware and/or software compatibility.
• Conceives system interfaces and business application prototypes.
• Identifies, analyzes and resolves system design weaknesses.
• Influences the shaping of future products by contributing to the framework (architecture) used across multiple products or systems.
• Provides multi-layered technical expertise for next generation initiatives.
• Organizes and participates in design reviews of machine improvements and new designs, including FMEA and Fault Tree Analysis.
• Manages design and drafting staff for electrical engineering projects, monitoring schedules and budgets.
• Provides Subsystem design, documentation, and packaging of sub-assemblies.
• Works with customers to formalize, design, and implement customer special designs.
• Quotes engineering labor and material for marketing feasibility.
• Works with High Vacuum components (roughing pumps, turbo pups, cryo pumps, and valving) and clean room procedures.
• Works with High Voltage components and applications, including spark-hardening and special design considerations.
• Works with Gas Handling systems (mass flow controllers and transducers) and exhaust system requirements.
• Works with Pneumatic and cooling system components and controls.
• Familiar with ISO procedures, and Lockout/Tagout requirements.
• Familiar with SEMI S2-0200, SEMI S8-0600, and CE certification.

Typical Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree with 4 years of related experience; or Master’s Degree with 2 years of related experience; or Associate’s Degree with 8 years of related experience; or 12 years of experience in lieu of degree. High school diploma or equivalent required.

Required Skills and Education
10+ years in development of Semiconductor vacuum process equipment, preferably plasma and/or ion beam related equipment
Bachelor or Master Physics, Electrical/Mechanical/System Engineering or equivalent

Preferred Skills and Education
10+ years in development of Semiconductor vacuum process equipment, preferably plasma and/or ion beam related equipment
Master or PhD Physics, Electrical/Mechanical/System Engineering or equivalent
