Talent Acquisition Specialist

Centrica’s Colleague Recruitment & Mobility team has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and passionate tech recruiter to help take our technology, product and engineering talent acquisition offering to the next level.

You will be responsible for sourcing top talent (internal and external) into a range of technology, product and engineering teams across the group. This will also give you the opportunity to work on wider initiatives relating to the broader colleague experience agenda including internal talent mobility, early careers and employer branding.

Location: We work flexibly believing that empowered colleagues are happier and more productive. You will work the majority of your time at home but we would expect you to be in commuting distance of our Leeds, Glasgow or Windsor hubs as you will be required to travel there from time to time.

The Role

  • Partner with hiring managers to establish technical and cultural requirements of the role to ensure candidates resourced internally and externally will make a sustained difference to our business.
  • Plan and lead advertising campaigns, working within the team to utilise appropriate advertising platforms
  • Develop a clear view of internal talent within your areas enabling you to identify and proactively approach key internal talent
  • Utilise LinkedIn Recruiter and other key sourcing channels to support our direct hire model and proactively source and identify suitable candidates
  • Ensure all resourcing activity is compliant and in line with relevant country specific legislation and governance to protect Centrica’s right to operate
  • Uphold the group recruitment and assessment standards for all hiring activity, designing & delivering effective assessment strategies thus ensuring an excellent candidate and hiring manager experience
  • Agree and deliver appropriate recruitment strategies with hiring managers (route to market, interview/assessment centre, on boarding)
  • Provide guidance on the choice and preparation of recruitment materials and candidate/assessor tools for both internal and external use
  • Ensure all resourcing activity is aligned to our Talent and D&I (Diversity & Inclusion) strategies

About you

  • The role will be both challenging and exciting, working within a fast-paced matrixed organisation across an ever-changing landscape. To be successful you will need excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, a focus on customer centricity and the ability to build and foster relationships with key stakeholders across our domestic and international businesses.
  • An understanding of and deep interest in all things technology, product and engineering related allowing you to have meaningful conversations with internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience with a range of modern sourcing channels and ability to engage constructively with in demand tech talent
  • Track record of managing multiple roles or projects with a ‘results oriented’ and ‘can do’ approach
  • You’ll focus on internal mobility with a natural desire to approach internal talent and discuss opportunities
  • Proven analytical ability and commercial awareness, producing and interpreting meaningful analysis to share with managers and other key stakeholders
  • Experience of working with multiple stakeholders in a highly matrixed environment
  • Demonstrable experience of using social media and harnessing its capability as appropriate channels of attraction, with the hunger to explore new routes to market
  • A collaborative approach to working as part of a team
