Lendlease is looking for a Tax Manager to join our Australian tax advisory team at Barangaroo, Sydney. This is a dynamic, fast paced and highly visible role where your breadth of experience will be utilised and your talent valued. You will partner with our Australian businesses providing tax advice for transactions and business activities. This position will offer exposure to a diverse range of tax and commercial issues across our businesses including Property, Development, Investment Management, Retirement Living and Construction, including the opportunity to work on large complex transactions.
Your responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):
- Provide commercially astute, strategic and technically accurate tax advice to key stakeholders, ensuring a consistent and effective approach to tax risk management.
- Tax support for major transactions. This will involve co-ordination and collaboration with external advisers and internal stakeholders.
- Manage and coordinate the timely delivery of tax advice for day to day tax issues.
- Foster and maintain effective and collaborative partnerships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders across functions and/or the entire organisation.
- Advise on the impact of relevant new or proposed legislation, decisions, regulations and rulings in tax and related areas and participate in industry consultation where necessary.
- Work closely with our tax compliance team to ensure that tax advice is implemented and accurately reflected in tax compliance obligations.
To be successful in this role, you will have the following knowledge, skills and experience:
- 8+ years Australian tax experience.
- Corporate tax experience – highly desirable.
- Property and / or investment management tax experience preferred.
- Relevant finance tertiary qualifications, which may include professional accreditation such as CA/CPA or Masters of Tax.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills with the ability to work on complex issues.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate across all levels of the organisation.
- Skilled at making the complex appear simple and clearly articulating tax advice tailored to the target audience.
- Works collaboratively in a team environment.
