As Technical Specialist IV, you will use innovation and judgement to solve complex problems, working closely with multiple stakeholders to ensure accurate and available data. You may direct the work of others, so leadership, presentation and training skills are important. Project planning and the ability to collaborate are keys to success and safety is of utmost importance.

Responsibilities/Expectations:

Performs moderately difficult assignments to ensure system integrity, support pipeline operations, maintain compliance and maintain facility equipment
Troubleshoots/solves complex problems using technical evaluation, innovation and judgment
Develops, presents and trains internal and external stakeholders and may direct work of others
Participates in project planning and works closely with stakeholders
Leads development and tasks associated with operations, equipment maintenance, technical standards and/or governmental requirements
Reads, understands and evaluates engineering design documents, contracts and agreements
Efficiently and effectively resolve issues related to measurement equipment malfunctions, volumetric imbalances, quality control and measurement analysis
Other duties as assigned
Education/Years of Experience:

Required: Associates degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of six (6) years’ experience in oil & gas industry
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a technical field and a minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in field operations/construction or other technical specialty field
Physical and Environment Work Requirements:

Must be able to:

Work in extreme temperatures, with loud noises and in enclosed spaces
Carry and lift items that weigh a minimum of 50 lbs.
Stand, walk, climb, bend, stoop, and squat, often for long periods of time
Work at elevated levels, potentially from man lifts, ladders, scaffolding, and/or small towers, with appropriate PPE (Personal Protection Equipment)
Use hand tools
Shift/Work Hours/Travel Requirements:

Must be able to work after hours, on-call rotations, nights, weekend shifts and holiday as needed
May be required to work overtime, 10-12 hour shifts and travel between Williams locations with occasional overnight stays
Other Requirements:

Must possess valid State Driver’s License and clean driving record
Demonstrates excellent organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as the utmost priority
Needs proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Application and PC skills
Measurement field technician experience with installation and troubleshooting of liquids and/or gas measurement equipment preferred
Diverse measurement equipment experience, including various meter technologies, flow computers, gas chromatographs and related software preferred
Measurement laboratory QA/QC experience preferred
Experience with advanced troubleshooting of meter proving repeatability and reproducibility issues, densitometer proving repeatability and reproducibility issues, Electronic Flow Measurement (EFM) configuration and programming errors, sampler and resulting composition errors, analyzer and product quality errors, mechanical or instrumentation issues with provers, flow transmitter configuration errors preferred
Experience developing and delivering technical training preferred
Experience developing and maintaining company specifications, standards and guidelines for designing and operating measurement equipment preferred
Measurement equipment sizing and selection experience preferred
Familiarity with AGA standards, API Manual of Petroleum Measurements Standards and GPA preferred
Project planning, collaboration and evaluation are skills needed to be successful as a Technical Specialist III. This role ensures system integrity while maintaining compliance, safety of facility equipment and overall pipeline operations.

General Compensation Information:

This role will be eligible for an Annual Incentive Program (AIP) payment. AIP payments are discretionary compensation based on business performance in relation to enterprise goals, the incentive opportunity for the role, and individual perfor­mance. Certain roles may also be eligible for long-term incentive awards.
