The Department
Technical Security function (known as TISO function) manages enterprise security portfolio to support Invesco’s business and systems. We support the Information Security vision by providing transparency of the current state of our security capabilities; security development in the industry; and a technical roadmap toward our future state. We establish security standards, reference architecture, guidelines; and we provide security advisory/assurance services to the company to ensure all IT systems are designed with proper security controls in place.
Your Role
This role is accountable for driving Data Security initiatives for the organization. Under limited supervision, the candidate will work with a wide variety of business partners and IT professionals (including Invesco Enterprise Data Office) to ensure organizational security needs/controls are aligned to support business goals and objectives. Though data is the main area of focus for this role, each TISO is encouraged to cover other technology domains as needed.
You will be responsible for:
- Act as a domain expert for advisory, review, and approval of security designs, configurations, baselines, and technical standards
- Assess the efficiency of data security controls i.e. encryption, data classification, DLP, and report risk to the security management and risk register. Work on identifying and driving the implementation of appropriate controls, processes, and remediation of non-compliance
- Provide security advisory services to Information Security / IT on projects & general support matters
- Owns the teamwork between Information Security, Privacy and IT teams to support data security programs. This will include driving the awareness and adoption of data classification across business units
- Work with partners, IT, and Business to align data security standards with business goals and objectives
- Contribute and execute on security strategy, drive data security projects, and ensure implementation and transition to operational support
- Assist in research, design, and advocate new technologies, architectures, and security products that will support data-driven initiatives
- Assists security Incident Response and forensic teams in the investigation as required
The experience you bring:
- Eight plus years IT experience with six-plus years passionate about Security
- Experience in database access controls, database compliance (Oracle, SQL), cloud-based data solutions, encryption tools, and DLP tools
- Demonstrated experience running an enterprise-wide initiative and understanding of all domains of security. Ability to engage with senior leaders to define requirements and implement technology solutions that add value and reduce risk
- Expert knowledge of data encryption/masking technologies applied against structured data, unstructured data, storage & backups, email, file sharing, B2B connections
- Strong communicator (written and verbal) and listener
- Bachelor’s degree, or higher, in a technical subject area, is preferred
- CISSP (or equivalent) required
- TOGAF or Zachman (or equivalent) preferred; AWS Solution Architect (or equivalent) preferred
