Summary of the Job
The Technical Lead will oversee the In Market PMS technical team and all projects they undertake, analyze functional requirements and translate these into technical specifications for the development team to work on, write progress reports, identify risks, and develop work schedules. You should be able to collaborate with your team and inspire them to reach their goals.
To be successful as a Technical Lead, you should always be expanding your industry knowledge and be able to quickly identify problems. You are accountable, trustworthy, and able to build lasting relationships with the team. Led by technical design and extensive experience the role facilitates the best possible solution for all aspects of availability, scalability, security and reliability while keeping the product at a positive ROI.
You focus on technical design in a constructive way while balancing trade-offs between usability of the product and performance and are always striving towards improvements.
Steering the feature teams through volunteering advice and providing guidelines for implementation, you proactively focus on improving testing and coding and continuously pursue improving efficiency and effectiveness of all the engineers on the team.
A successful Technical Lead in our team will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, supporting multiple functional areas. You will be the “go to” team member for technical advice on the platform and quality of the solution.
About you
Our ideal candidate possesses a variety of traits, amongst which:
- Solid coding skills and experience in new and legacy code; Delphi, C++, .Net
- A deep professional software engineering experience on lead/architect level
- Proven ability to remain at the forefront of the latest cloud platform services and have a pragmatic view of when to introduce new technologies into the product and solutions
- Proficiency in designing, coding and debugging multithreaded, scalable enterprise class integrated applications to provide the right level of guidance for others
- Deep understanding of REST and SOAP web services
- Good understanding of Microsoft Azure PaaS services including App Services, Service Bus and Storage
- A DevOps mindset, taking responsibility of our SaaS product throughout the entire lifecycle, including when running in production
- Experienced in Continuous Delivery, including Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment
- Excellent technical design, problem solving and communication skills
- Demonstrated experience in releasing high quality products and services
- Hands-on coaching mentality, promoting code quality through reviews and guidelines
- Experienced with SCRUM methodologies of development
- Liaising with team members, management, and clients to ensure projects are completed to standard.
- Identifying risks and forming contingency plans as soon as possible.
- Analyzing existing operations and scheduling training sessions and meetings to discuss improvements.
- Keeping up-to-date with industry trends and developments.
- Preferably experience in Hospitality products
- Fluency in English
- Allowed to work in The Netherlands
