About the Role

In our mission to become a true ‘Multi-Product Retailer’ AGL continues to expand the range of products and services available to our traditional Gas and Electricity offering. Our newly developed capabilities in Mobile and nbn are perfect for our large customer base and as Telco Pricing Manager you play an important role in making our Telco offering interesting and accessible for our current and future customers.

The role is responsible for developing AGL’s pricing strategy for telco including broadband (nbn) and mobile products across Small Business and Consumer. This role is key to developing the best pricing for an optimal outcome for both AGL and the customer.  In the broad and diverse role you will take accountability for developing pricing strategy and all the inputs, modelling and stakeholder relations involved in this. Utilising a dynamic pricing methodology and continuing the integration of our recent acquisitions you will sit at the centre of a fast-moving, complex and important intersection of data, opportunity and customer engagement.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Development of pricing strategy for AGL telecommunication market entry and beyond
  • Engagement of key stakeholders to endorse and agree AGL telco pricing strategy
  • Competitor pricing analysis and monitoring
  • Development and maintenance of telecommunications margin models, taking into consideration supplier and wholesale costs as well as internal costs to serve and acquire customers
  • Making recommendations and informing key stakeholders as a result of telecommunications industry changes.
  • Price setting and maintenance of AGL’s telco product portfolio
  • Working with product manager to set up and report on key financial metrics.

About You

As the right person for this role you will come from a Telco background and hold strong commercial acumen, skill in building stakeholder relationships, and an ability to influence and drive outcomes at a senior level. You will have a demonstrable ability to ensure that recommendations delivered produce the optimal outcome for both AGL and the customer.

Lastly, you will operate with a deep passion for putting the customer at the centre of everything we do.

What you’ll bring to the table:

  • Strong commercial, analytical, modelling and conceptual skills with a detail focus.
  • Experience in pricing strategy and management.
  • Telecommunication and/or nbn experience.
  • Strong influencing, stakeholder management and influencing skills.
  • Well-developed numerical reasoning skills – including ability to interrogate data and turn into meaningful business insights.
  • Proactive mindset, with the ability to identify and communicate opportunities for improvement within the portfolio in a self-driven manner.
  • Ability to understand the legal and regulatory framework in the telecommunications industry and how that impacts development of new products and services.
