Tooling Engineer I

Key Responsibilities:

  • Designs tools for cold heading and rolling operations and related functions which ensure that products manufactured meet all specifications while maximizing life of tooling.
  • Designs tools for new products or machines and changes or improves existing tool drawings.
  • Makes machine part drawings and tool drawings from broken parts.  Consults with Production Technicians and Manufacturing Supervisors to determine best design concepts, processes and methods.
  • Interfaces with Production Technicians to participate in trouble shooting of manufacturing problems.
  • Evaluates tool designs and set up for proper functioning and cost effectiveness.
  • Checks drawings of others for errors and makes corrections as necessary.
  • Communicates effectively with all levels of personnel.
  • Responsible for maintaining header and rollers on Bill of National Set-Up books.
  • Ensure that all work activities are performed in accordance with established safety and environmental standards.
  • Maintains full compliance with Company policies and procedures and conducts all activities in accordance with the Company Guide to Business Conduct.
  • Demonstrates a knowledge of and commitment to lean manufacturing principles and techniques.
  • Performs all work activities in accordance with safety and environmental standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Must be able to interact positively with other individuals to function effectively in a team-based environment.

 

Qualifications

 Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in a technical field, preferred to be in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum of six (6) months in an industrial setting, including internships.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.  Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire.  Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status.  ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. ‘Green Card Holder’), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
