UK & EMEA Institutional Product Development Manager

Your Team
You will be part of the EMEA Product development and strategy team, reporting into the Head of UK & EMEA Institutional Product Development.
Your Role
As a Product Development Manager, you will play an important role in supporting support UK an EMEA Institutional product development and strategy. You will actively work with business units and senior leadership to identify product and corporate opportunities to create tangible, value-generating initiatives for IVZ. These will include among other things, developing approaches to position our investment management capabilities optimally within the insurance and pension channels, as well as developing technical solutions to implementation and delivery challenges.
You will be responsible for:
- Strategic Planning:
- Be a key contributor and help develop the UK and EMEA institutional product strategic plans through the identification of key trends and opportunities that could drive business growth and profitability.
- Maintain a forward looking view on key product and regulatory trends pertaining to the EMEA marketplace and ensure incorporation into Product strategy and planning
- Business partner:
- Be a subject matter expert on key distribution channels (Insurance & Pensions
- Understand channel requirements, including strategy preferences, pricing, structures, sales trends and ESG requirements
- Strategic initiative evaluation / analysis:
- Generate strategic and financial analysis / assessments and recommend initiatives to help drive the decision-making process for the business. This will include, among other things, conducting industry, competitor and product research and analysis and adding value beyond commercially available analytics
- Stakeholder communication:
- Actively participate in both formal and informal communications with a number of key stakeholders throughout the business, including formal governance bodies.
- Of particular importance is the need to optimise communication with Investment professionals and distribution professionals.
- In addition there will be a requirement to carefully consider and manage the relationship with the Regulator and other external bodies
- Execution:
- Lead / manage projects through the entire project / product portfolio management process (from concept to review). This will include the levering and coordination of key internal and external resources to plan and deliver initiatives on time, with thorough consideration of the end consumer and in accordance with agreed budgets.
- Governance and Conduct:
- Develop, adhere to and manage a high level of governance in Product activity.
- Embed a culture that integrates and considers good conduct throughout all activities.
The skills and experience you’ll bring
You will:
- Have at least 5 years experience in asset management in a comparable position
- Minimum 5 years experience in asset management
- At least 2 years experience in the product stategy and planning function within a medium to large institutional asset manager
- Strong background in product, strategic planning, investment, and/or business development functions desirable
- Proven success with developing and implementing large business projects
- Experience producing and presenting high-quality presentations / analytical reports to senior management
- Excellent understanding of the investment needs of Insurance and Pension clients, including ESG
- Strong system proficiency including advanced Power Point and Excel
- Thorough understanding of the investment markets, product and product structures
- Comprehensive understanding of regulation and its impact on product development
- Undergraduate degree required
- Post graduate qualifications preferred (MBA, CFA, CA)
