Vulnerability Management Analyst

We’re looking for a Vulnerability Management Analyst to join us in either our Reading or Schiphol-Rijk office

The Threat and Vulnerability Management team ensures effective prioritization and management of vulnerabilities to reduce the risk of infection, remote execution and data exfiltration across the Liberty Global estate. The teams key role is to provide proactive and effective management of vulnerabilities to reduce the attack surface and improve the overall security posture of Liberty Global and its entities.

As such the Threat & Vulnerability Management team are looking for talented and passionate security professionals to join their team within the UK or Netherlands.

As part of TVM our Vulnerability Management Analysts, focus on delivering the end to end vulnerability management process, including proactive monitoring and scanning of threats and vulnerabilities in order to protect and defend Liberty Global’s interests. With vulnerabilities impacting network, endpoint, and cloud in a diverse global environment, you will be part of a highly collaborative team to help drive identification, reporting, and mitigation activities in order to keep pace with the ever evolving threat landscape.

What will you be doing?

  • Conduct vulnerability scanning activities of the internal and external footprint to identify threats and reduce the attack surface.

  • Review latest sources and vendor news to identify potential risks and vulnerabilities and raise awareness to the business.

  • Liaise with internal and external security teams including TVM threat intelligence to assess impact and  drive timely remediation of high risk vulnerabilities.

  • Provide incident support and context to the GSOC team for high risk OOB vulnerabilities impacting the business.

  • Provide SME oversight and support to projects to ensure all vulnerability management process criteria are met and appropriate assets captured by TVM tooling.

  • Research and deliver weekly security alert summaries to highlight the latest vendor advisories to the operations team for remediation.

  • Conduct vulnerability assessments against known architecture including web application scanning and cloud to deliver actionable reports to the business for remediation.

  • Research and examine the latest vulnerabilities and Proof of Concepts to provide guidance on mitigation of critical vulnerabilities.

  • Establish positive relationships engaging with technical teams and executives to deliver regular vulnerability reporting and mitigation advisory and seek continuous improvement of  TVM process.

  • Provide detailed documentation and development of playbooks to improve TVM response and speed of identification.

  • Provide support to broader security related responsibilities as part of a cutting-edge security team

We Tend To Look For People With

  • People with a passion for Cyber Security and drive to achieve effective results in a challenging technical environment.

  • A strong technical background within system administration and networking along with a proven track record in Vulnerability Management.

  • Bachelor or Master’s Degree in computer science, mathematics or other computer-related field of study a plus or equivalent experience.

  • Experience of working within a large enterprise vulnerability management program

  • Experience of working in CERT, consulting or military environments preferred

  • Able to demonstrate a good all-round understanding of Technical Infrastructure, Cloud and Network Technology

  • In-depth understanding of web application vulnerabilities

  • Outstanding attention to detail

  • Security+ /CEH qualification preferred

  • Vulnerability assessment and port scanning expertise with various tools.

  • Using scripting languages such as Python to write code to aid in investigations

  • Confident in presenting findings and making recommendations at a senior management level.

  • Experience in working with a wide range of stakeholders in the context of improving security.

  • Extensive cloud technical knowledge a plus

  • Fluent in English (speaking/writing)
