Warehouse Coordinator – (Dry Warehouse)

Job Summary

This position is responsible for coordinating warehouse inventory activities including inbound and internal processes.  The warehouse coordinator will complete, lead and monitor completion of  inventory management tasks under the guidance of the Materials Manager and heavy coordination with department personnel.

  • Partner closely with the materials team to ensure ingredient and packaging materials warehouse activities are effectively scheduled and executed.
  • Monitor and coordinate the inbound receiving activities, specifically, the physical warehouse activities and transactions to ensure accuracy.
  • Create and releases waves and manages tasks for picking product for shipment.
  • Receive raw materials from vendors and STOs.
  • Coordinate and execute the flow of raw materials between the facility and off-site warehouses.
  • Create and manage batches for bulk commodities.
  • Reconcile and correct variances in raw material and bulk commodity inventories.
  • Create and perform physical inventory counts as necessary.
  • Manage systematic consumption and inventory of chemicals
  • In conjunction with the inventory control coordinator, create, assign, and complete inventory control tasks.
  • Support inventory control activities to include identifying, investigating, and resolving inventory discrepancies resulting from the use of exception codes.
  • Adhere to the Saputo code of ethics and actively apply the Saputo values.
  • Work together professionally in a team environment with coworkers and other department personnel.
  • Performs other duties as requested, directed or assigned.

Job Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent. Preferred, 2-year degree in supply chain management or inventory control management.
  • Two-years in a lead warehouse role, directly in a warehouse, logistics, transportation or distribution center environment.
  • Excellent computer skills with advanced experience with word processing, spreadsheet applications and specialized inventory control software programs, SAP a plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as customer orders, inventory reports, operating procedures to ensure documents are audited and accurate.  Ability to generate reports and business correspondence.
  • Ability to prioritize responsibilities and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Candidate must be highly organized and efficient.
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and written.
  • Work together professionally in a team environment with coworkers and other department personnel.
  • Must have excellent mathematical skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing organizational and operational needs.

Physical Demands and Working Environment:

  • The employee may be exposed to wet, hot, humid and cold temperatures, moving machinery including forklift traffic, and noise levels exceeding 85dB.
  • Wear personal protective equipment (PPE), required in a warehouse and production environment.
  • Must have the ability to lift and/or move up to 40-pounds independently throughout the shift.
  • The employee is regularly required to work in an office, warehouse, and production environment.
  • Specific vision abilities required for this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • The employee frequently is required to sit, stand and walk for extended periods of time.
